Chair for my Father, 2026
All of my words, letters, shoes are borrowed; and my dad has trouble speaking sometimes, but I love to spell the word “colour” with a “U” because of him.
Metal, emergency blanket, wood, glass, graphite, sock, and my father’s canvas gym shoes from when he was 10-years-old, which I wore until they fell apart.
Shown alongside,
Dad’s Book (1984). This book contains one word: “palfreeman” as well as a ~50-year-old butterfly wing.
Box frame with found object: notebook, ink, graphite, butterfly wing.
